ADLINK announces ALS-3206 rackmount Internet security platform
Irvine, CA (February 14, 2008) – ADLINK Technology Inc. announces the ALS-3206 rackmount Internet security platform. The ALS-3206 represents our commitment to network security system integrators and network application software developers by designing a well-engineered network security platform which properly balances performance and cost. This product is positioned as a mid-range network security appliance, yet supports a wide range of expandability options for high-end performance.

The ALS-3206 supports several Intel processors, including the Core2 Duo, Core Duo, Core Solo and Celeron M processors; supports the Intel 945 GME and ICH7R chipsets; and provides two PCI-X and one PCI extension slot. One unique feature of the ALS-3206 is the option to configure the two PCI-X extension slots: one to extend a 4-port Gigabit Ethernet card and the other to extent a network security accelerator. This combination of features presents an excellent choice for anti-virus software security, content security, and PKI software applications.

More about the ALS-3206
For extended connectivity, the ALS-3206 offers six 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN ports at the front panel. There is also an RS-232 serial port (DB-9 connector) for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics. The ALS-3206 provides four SATA II HDD interfaces, 2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 4 GB DDR2 RAM, four USB 2.0 ports, two PS/2 ports, a CompactFlash slot, and one VGA port—all in a 1U form factor. The ALS-3206 also includes a unique configuration of features including: a programmable bypass for two sets of the LAN ports, support for use of an optional PCI-X bridge riser card, and two PCI-X extension slots.

The ALS-3206 series is a cost-effective solution for IDS, IPS, UTM, firewall, VPN gateway, load balancing, and traffic mining applications.
