Beijer Electronics acquires Westermo Group
Beijer Electronics, headquartered in Malmo, Sweden has acquired the Westermo group.

Westermo will be an autonomous business unit within the Beijer group focusing on industrial data communications. The Beijer Electronics other two business units are in the automation and HMI sectors.

Beijer Electronics was founded in 1981 and today has 450 employees and a turnover of approximately 100 Million Euro. Beijer Electronics AB is listed on the small cap market of the Stockholm stock exchange, The Stena Sessan Shipping Company is the major shareholder owning approximately 25% of the company.

Beijer Electronics takes official ownership on January 1st 2008 of the whole Westermo group including the factory building in Stora Sundby, Sweden.

It will be business as usual for Westermo, no changes are planned for the organisation.

The current owner Mr Thomas Andersson will leave Westermo completely and have no involvement with the company after the take over.

Mr Lars-Ola Lunkvist the recently appointed CEO of the Westermo group will remain with the company and continue to develop the business under the new ownership.
