McCrometer introduces Multi-Mag L Series Flow Meter
Hemet, CA - April 23, 2008 - With its advanced electromagnetic multi-point sensing technology for large line sizes, a smart programmable signal converter and a virtually noise-immune cable, the innovative Multi-Mag L Series Flow Meter from McCrometer delivers exceptional performance in a NEMA 6/IP67 package that is ideal for demanding municipal water and industrial processes.

Incorporating a new microprocessor-based signal converter, the Multi-Mag L Series Flow Meter provides exceptional linearity across six points of measurement for an expanded flow range with higher turndowns and superior repeatability. The signal converter also features a highly intuitive operator interface with a large, easy-to-read digital screen including graphics capability. Below the screen, a three-button membrane switch makes programming easier, simplifies installation and helps prevent operator errors.

Designed with a shielded cable that is virtually noise immune, the Multi-Mag L Flow Meter provides an improved noise-to-signal ratio for superior measurement performance. The output signal is 4-20 mA analog, which is also galvanically isolated and fully programmable for zero and full scale. It is designed with dual alarms (2 separate outputs) and is programmable for high/low flow rates, percent of range, empty pipe, forward/reverse, polarity (normally opened/closed) and more.

Process and plant engineers will find this rugged flow meter installs in minutes without shutting down the system and removes easily through standard valves. Its signal converter enclosure is NEMA 6/IP67 approved for harsh operating environments with temperatures ranging from -4° to 140ºF (-20° to +60ºC). Separate termination and electronics compartments are provided for superior reliability and safety. A clear window is available for local field readings and inspection.

The Multi-Mag L Series Flow Meter measures liquid volumetric flow rates with a streamlined multi-point technology that creates only negligible pressure loss in pipes sized from 4 to 120 inches (101.6 mm to 3 m). It is also available for 1-, 2- and 3-inch taps. Featuring an advanced insertable electromagnetic averaging design, the Multi-Mag L Series measures volumetric flow with accuracy up to ±1% of reading (from 0.03 to +20 feet/second + zero stability) and repeatability at +0.20 percent of the flow range.
