May 8, 2008 - Paqworks released the Cybertec Series 1000 modem/router which provides a flexible and reliable communications platform for interfacing with both serial and Ethernet enabled devices using 3G cellular data networks. The Cybertec Series 1000 is the ideal solution for use in remote SCADA or telemetry applications.
Standard on all models are two switched Ethernet ports, eliminating the need to use an external switch in many applications. The switch is fully managed and can support VLAN and QoS functionality.
Connecting to legacy serial-enabled hardware such as RTUs and PLCs that require emulation of dial-up modem functionality remains a key application for many customers. To provide backward compatibility with existing modems, serial ports can be accessed as circuit switched data (dial-up) or as packet switched (IP).
The Cybertec Series 1000 is available in two versions offering up to three serial ports, each with flexible configuration options including support for DNP3 and Modbus over IP. In addition, two optional Digital Ins and Digital Outs provide limited RTU type functionality.
