Savigent Software's Online Resources

Founded in 1994, Savigent Software has pioneered a new class of event-driven manufacturing operations management software. We deliver highly efficient manufacturing systems and provide our customers with flexible software solutions for their workflow automation, manufacturing intelligence and systems integration needs.

Our clients – manufacturers in a variety of industries including the automotive, semiconductor, industrial, specialty chemical, consumer packaged goods, and aerospace and defense sectors, as well as OEMs – are seeking increased operational efficiencies, agile control of manufacturing assets, and improved process control and product quality. We address these needs by consistently delivering software and services that enable them to produce their products more efficiently, effectively and economically.

Our Catalyst™ suite of software products has been proven in demanding manufacturing environments at Fortune 500 manufacturers. Featuring open connectivity, Catalyst™ provides customers with a comprehensive manufacturing operations management platform.

Catalyst xM™

Catalyst xM™ is a controlled electronic system designed specifically for the automation of workflow in the manufacturing environment. Workflows are the sequence of actions that define the interactions between people, equipment and systems in the normal course of operations as well as in response to unexpected events.

Workflows are the processes and procedures manufacturers strive to define, document and refine in order to improve quality, reduce variability and increase operational efficiency. Whether called standard work, standard operating procedures or business processes – they define what manufacturers do and how they do it.

There are numerous benefits to automating workflow in Catalyst xM™. It’s easier than people think and provides a significant ROI. Catalyst xM™ makes it possible for manufacturers to:

- Guarantee 100% compliance,

- Gain unparalleled levels of traceability,

- Provide decision support through meaningful manufacturing intelligence,

- Close the loop on continuous improvement efforts,

- Improve operational productivity, and

- Reduce resource requirements.

Built on Savigent’s Catalyst™ Platform

Catalyst xM™ is part of Savigent Software’s Catalyst™ suite of products which are highly configurable composite applications built on the distributable, service-oriented, event-driven Catalyst™ Platform. This provides manufacturers with the ability to easily add and adapt functionality to meet the changing needs of business.

Open Connectivity

Catalyst xM™ has been designed to integrate with existing equipment and systems in order to provide event detection and action automation with open connectivity to a wide variety of equipment, devices, databases and communications and messaging protocols. Catalyst SDP™ – System Development Platform

Catalyst SDP™ is a system development platform that dramatically simplifies software and system development for manufacturers, system integrators and OEMs / ISVs. It allows users to quickly and easily assemble software solutions from reusable components in a visual development environment.

Comprised of two applications, a graphical integrated development environment and an application server (runtime environment), Catalyst SDP™ combines three powerful concepts into one software product:

- Composite application development framework

- Unifying service architecture

- Distributed execution capability

Catalyst SDP™ is the platform that powers all of Savigent products. It implements and runs core functionality and enables end-user extensibility and customization.

Catalyst SDP™ Gives Manufacturers the Ability to:

- Automate to Improve Efficiency – Move beyond visibility into sources of waste and eliminate them with integration and automation solutions.

- Enable Significant Operational Agility – Implement controlled reconfiguration and extensions of systems in response to changing conditions.

- Improve Developer Productivity – Allow the reuse of software functionality and promote the retention of corporate knowledge. Also, make teams more efficient and allow domain expert participation in development efforts.

Catalyst SDP™ Standard Agent Library

Catalyst SDP™ comes with a rich and growing library of prebuilt agents and provides wizards and templates for MS Visual Studio that allow users to easily develop their own agents using standard .NET tools and languages.

Catalyst Extended Agent Libraries

- SECS/GEM Agent Library

- .NET Service Bus Agent Library (Windows Azure)

- B2MML Transaction Agent Library

- SAP MII Agent Library

- Tibco Agent Library

Open Connectivity

Catalyst SDP™ provides open connectivity to a wide variety of equipment, devices, systems, databases, communications and messaging protocols such as: OPC, Modbus, Serial, TCP/UDP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IM, SECS/GEM, application APIs, flat files, Oracle, SQL, OleDb, Tibco, MSMQ, MQ, JMS, WCF, SOAP/WS, XML/RPC, DDS, SAP MII, MS Azure (.NET Service Bus), B2MML.

Catalyst Equipment Service Bus™

The Catlyst Equipment Service Bus™ is an extendible, standardized service architecture implemented at the equipment level to provide bidirectional, many-to-one connectivity for manufacturing operations management systems to the plant floor. The Equipment Service Bus™ provides a highly flexible abstraction layer between the plant floor and the enterprise, much like an enterprise service bus, that dramatically simplifies integration efforts and increases flexibility.

The Equipment Service Bus™ is comprised of:

- Connectivity solutions to equipment,

- State, data, control, production and consumption models to contextualize information and events, and

- An agent-based service implementation.

Designed to integrate existing equipment and systems with open connectivity to a wide variety of equipment, devices, databases and communications and messaging protocols, the Equipment Service Bus™ leverages reusable software components to decrease development efforts during implementation.

Catalyst PDC™

Catalyst PDC™ is a context-aware process data historian, a high-performance database for historical manufacturing information, and a highly scalable and distributable data collection infrastructure based on the Catalyst™ Platform.  Catalyst PDC™ has been optimized to capture and store both time series process data as well as event-based context data, for example, temperatures and pressures (equipment time series process data) and equipment state (event-based context data). Combining event-based context data with process data yields contextualized information about your manufacturing equipment and processes.

Catalyst PDC™ Gives Manufacturers the Ability to:

- Characterize manufacturing equipment

- Collect process data from equipment

- Detect and collect context data relevant to equipment operation and process execution

- Analyze process data using context to identify and select relevant time ranges

Unparalleled Connectivity

Catalyst PDC™ allows manufacturers to model their equipment and related manufacturing systems in an ISA-95 based equipment hierarchy (enterprise, sites, lines, work centers, machines, etc.).
