Extronics will supply a wireless network for hazardous environments at Total’s UK-based refinery The intrinsically safe and explosion proof wireless network will deliver work scheduling and position status feedback to operators on more than 1,500 manual valves involved in the offsite operations for display on a process mimic. Windows Mobile PDAs and RFID tags can be used by operators to enter the status of the valves and feed the information back to the process mimic.
