Renewable energy storage to highlight Hydrogen + Fuel Cells NORTH AMERICA

August 2, 2017 - One of the major topics of the inaugural Hydrogen + Fuel Cells NORTH AMERICA (H2+FC NORTH AMERICA) trade show will be the storage of renewable energies. Wind and solar energy can be stored through the production of hydrogen via water electrolysis. Market leaders in this sector such as ITM Power, Nel Hydrogen, Hydrogenics, Secure Supply and Giner will showcase their latest electrolyser products and technologies. H2+FC NORTH AMERICA, organized by Hannover Fairs USA (HFUSA), the U.S. subsidiary of German-based energy and industrial technology event organizer Deutsche Messe, will be staged alongside Solar Power International (SPI 2017) at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from September 10-13, 2017.
“We are excited to launch Hydrogen + Fuel Cells NORTH AMERICA at SPI 2017,” said President & CEO of HFUSA Larry Turner. “The innovative solutions covered by our show’s exhibitors are growing in importance in the sustainable energy sector and will enhance attendees overall networking and product sourcing capabilities.”
H2+FC NORTH AMERICA will spotlight hydrogen-powered, environmentally friendly vehicles and hydrogen refueling technologies. All SPI 2017 attendees will be able to test drive fuel cell cars in front of the H2+FC NORTH AMERICA exhibition hall. Featured by the California Fuel Cell Partnership, the Toyota Mirai, Honda Clarity and Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell cars will be available to test drive. The show also will highlight the build-up of a hydrogen infrastructure in the United States. Air Liquide, the world leader in industrial gases, will showcase its expansion of hydrogen refueling stations in the U.S. that allow the use of hydrogen as a clean source for zero-emission fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). WEH Technologies, the market leader of alternative refueling components, will present its fueling nozzles on the show floor.
Spotlighting hydrogen generation and compression, PDC Machines will showcase SimpleFuel, a fully integrated hydrogen generation, compression, storage and dispensing appliance capable of delivering up to 5 kilograms per day of hydrogen to vehicles at pressures up to 700 bar. Several other hydrogen compressor companies will exhibit their latest innovations, including Haskel, RIX Industries, Andreas Hofer, HyET Hydrogen and Hydro-Pac.
Hexagon Composites, a company in lightweight composite cylinders for storage and transport of gases under pressure, will showcase its high-pressure vessels that store natural gas and hydrogen for mobile and stationary applications.
H2+FC NORTH AMERICA also will showcase the latest developments in fuel cell technologies. Ballard Power Systems, a provider of clean energy and fuel cell solutions, will demonstrate its innovative fuel cell solutions and services. SAFCell, a producer of hydrogen generation and compression systems, will showcase its Solid Acid Fuel Cell stacks for stationary and portable power applications that can produce up to tens of kilowatts.
Also on display at the show will be components for fuel cells. A fuel cell is a device that combines hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, heat and water. Exhibitors such as Aperam, Borit, Graebener and Impact Coatings will feature the latest bipolar plates, which are the main components of fuel cells.
During the show, exhibitors and leading industry experts will feature a comprehensive forum program, including company presentations and interviews. The following topics will be discussed: How to connect the Solar Industry and the Hydrogen Industry? Storage of Solar Energy: Through the Production of Hydrogen or in Batteries? Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles and Hydrogen Infrastructure: Deployment and Issues.
