Weidmüller announces acquisition of W Interconnections group

October 19, 2017 - The Weidmüller Group announced the acquisition of the W Interconnections group companies in the USA, Canada and Mexico from Rockwell Automation, Inc. effective 1 October 2017. The W Interconnections group sells products for Industrial Connectivity and Automation.
The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region is one of the most important markets for Industry Automation. With this acquisition, Weidmüller intends to strengthen its global presence and customer proximity in the Industrial Connectivity and Automation market. The acquisition supports Weidmüller’s growth strategy in Industrial Connectivity, Communication and Digitalization and reflects the commitment of Weidmüller to the NAFTA market.
Weidmüller will continue to operate the business from the current sites in Richmond (USA), Toronto (CAN) and Puebla (Mex) and welcomes the colleagues who contribute with their product, technology and application competence.
Weidmüller thanks Rockwell Automation for the successful relationship over the last fourteen years and is looking forward to continue a strong partnership.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or contractual details.
