July 23, 2014 - Deutsche Messe’s RENEX SOUTH AMERICA trade show (26 to 28 November 2014 at the FIERGS Exhibition and Convention Centre in Porto Alegre, Brazil) gives international suppliers of renewables technology a highly effective platform where they can showcase their innovative products and solutions to the dynamic markets of Brazil and the rest of South America. Hydropower has traditionally accounted for the lion’s share of Brazil’s renewable energy market, but wind power has made something of a breakthrough in recent times and the potential of solar energy and bioenergy is enormous.
“RENEX SOUTH AMERICA is a gateway to this booming market, providing a wealth of opportunities for new business contacts and knowledge networking. And this year, with the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) at our side, we have two strong partners who will enable us to extend the show’s thematic coverage and provide a range of exciting new participation options for exhibitors,” said Wolfgang Pech, the Senior Vice President in charge of Deutsche Messe’s foreign trade fair business.
The DLG’s involvement at this year’s RENEX SOUTH AMERICA will take the form of a theme-based group pavilion called EnergyDecentral. The EnergyDecentral Pavilion is inspired by Germany’s EnergyDecentral trade fair and profiles innovative decentralized solutions for all stages of the energy value chain. The pavilion is supported by a technical forum that focuses primarily on decentralized energy supply and canvasses such keynote themes as solid and liquid fuels, biogas, ethanol and the regulatory and business environment in the Latin American markets. “The EnergyDecentral trade fair in Hannover, Germany is Europe’s premier international platform for distributed generation. We are now implementing this winning format in Brazil in order to provide a marketplace for South American energy generators and consumers who are interested in innovative energy supply concepts,” said Marcus Vagt, the DLG project manager in charge of EnergyDecentral.
The VDMA’s involvement at this year’s RENEX SOUTH AMERICA will be in the form of a theme-based group pavilion titled “Components for the Wind Industry.” Hartmut Rauen, who is a member of the executive board of the VDMA as well as the head of the VDMA’s power transmission and fluid power division, explains: “Brazil’s energy requirement is growing steadily – and with it the need to adopt innovative technologies in order to create a sustainable energy mix. This is where Germany’s mechanical and plant engineering industry can help. It can provide know-how and services in key areas, such as wind power. And what better platform than RENEX SOUTH AMERICA for showcasing Germany’s latest mechanical and plant engineering innovations directly to the markets of Brazil and South America generally?”
The RENEX SOUTH AMERICA exhibition program is very broad, encompassing biogas, biofuels, biomass, distributed energy generation, smart grids, wind energy, solar thermal energy and photovoltaics. The show also features an international conference for renewables and a B2B matchmaking platform. Visitors will also be able to go on guided tours themed around the various energy generation plants on display at the exhibition center.
