Phoenix Contact and ECT Debut New Database

October 252003
[Harrisburg, PA - October 2003] Visitors to the ISA Show can see a live demonstration of a new database that provides engineers greater convenience and increased product access by incorporating Phoenix Contact parts data with ECT’s promisle® software. The database will be on display at Phoenix Contact’s booth #2217.

ECT's promisle® electrical design software now ships with a parts database that includes over 600 Phoenix Contact electrical/electronic DIN-rail mounted products including terminal blocks, relays, signal conditioning modules, input/output modules, transient protection devices, power supplies, and distributed automation I/O systems. A library of related symbols is also included. The database and symbol library will be circulated on the Number 2 CD-ROM to all existing users of the design software package. The Phoenix Contact parts data and symbols also will be available as a download from both companies' web sites and new parts drawing requests will be added as ongoing updates.

"This software allows our customers to work more efficiently and effectively with our innovative products and provide tremendous savings in time and resources in electrical and automation designs. With features like error checking, automatic Bill Of Material creation, wire numbering, and ongoing enhancements, the promisle® software is well suited to supporting the sales and marketing activities of Phoenix Contact," states Arnold Offner, Product Marketing Manager at Phoenix Contact.

"The addition of the Phoenix Contact parts data and symbols are a great convenience to users of our software," said Arthur Sawall, President of ECT International. "By providing a ready-to-use database and symbol library for such widely used products, we save the user from having to enter this information. This can save hundreds of hours of data entry and symbol creation time."
