PTC ASIA 2012 in Shanghai

May 7, 2012 ‐‐ PTC ASIA 2012 is the largest manufacturing technology exhibition geared towards mechanical, electrical and fluid power transmission and control in Asia, and second largest event worldwide after its parent Motion, Drive & Automation (MDA), a show within HANNOVER MESSE.  PTC ASIA 2012 will focus on innovations for sustainable growth in manufacturing.   U.S. firms within the fluid power industry interested in developing new business contacts in Asia and beyond should consider attending PTC ASIA 2012, which will be held from October 29 to November 1, 2012, in Shanghai, China. 

The U.S. Department of Commerce has granted PTC ASIA 2012 Trade Fair Certification status, establishing a U.S. Pavilion that will be hosted and supported by the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA).  Firms such as Bosch Rexroth, Eaton, Park Hannifin, KAWASAKI, Festo, Siemens, Rexnord, ABB, Baldor and many more will be exhibiting at PTC Asia. 

This year, U.S. exhibitors will benefit from onsite translation services, pre-show briefings and tailored business meetings, logistics, exclusive customized match making services and effective marketing and PR campaigns.  These services will be offered in partnership between Hannover Fairs USA (HFUSA), NFPA, American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) and The U.S. Commercial Services.  The pavilion will serve as an excellent venue for global marketing and sales reach and firms of any size will be able to establish or expand overseas distribution, generate sales leads, evaluate competitors and work with U.S. Commercial Service trade specialists to identify potential buyers and partners.  The Commerce Department forecasts that more than 50 U.S. exhibitors will participate in the pavilion.

“We expect participating U.S. firms to greatly expand their footprint and scope of business in Asia through participation in the U.S. Pavilion at PTC Asia 2012,” said Larry Turner, CEO of HFUSA.  “Also, these strategic partnerships offer our exhibitors the ability to cost-share around critical marketing needs during this year’s show.”

PTC ASIA was established in China in 1991 as a leading industry exhibition in power transmission and control technologies.  After 20 years of successful performance, the yearly growth in both exhibitor numbers and show space has proved PTC ASIA the key platform for basic parts trading of Asian markets.  PTC ASIA 2012 will attract 1,500 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions and approximately 57,000 visitors from 80 countries and regions.  Additionally 34 international delegations and 281 user company delegations will be onsite for purchasing meetings.

According to the US Census Bureau, U.S. exports to China increased in 2011 by over 11 percent to almost $104 billion.   Of course, China’s exports to the U.S. also increased by 23 percent, leading to a balance of trade deficit of $295 billion.   After falling in 2009, the trade imbalance with China is now on the rise again.  PTC Asia is the leading business development showplace for industrial technologies, materials and product ideas.  Over the years, the focus shifted from stand‐alone components to end‐to‐end solutions and it remains the primary Asian off‐shore venue for U.S. industrial technology exporters.

The Trade Fair Certification Program is a cooperative arrangement between private sector trade show organizers and the U.S. Government.  The program seeks to broaden the base of U.S. exporters, particularly new‐to‐export and new‐to‐market firms, by introducing them to key trade fairs where they can meet their export objectives.

The U.S. Commercial Service helps U.S. businesses, particularly small and mid‐sized companies establish international business relationships. The agency’s global network includes locations in 108 U.S. cities and U.S. Embassies and consulates in nearly 80 countries.
