Research & Technology at HANNOVER MESSE 2013

December 4, 2012 - Germany continues to maintain technological leadership in the international arena in nanotechnology, microsystems engineering and electromobility research. Keeping Germany at the forefront of research and development innovation means bringing together the right people in the right place at the right time. This is how fresh ideas are formulated to drive technology transfer and forward-looking projects. From Industry 4.0 to the energy transition, demographic change and resource efficiency – there is no lack of research areas with significance for the future. This variety is just what Research & Technology at HANNOVER MESSE 2013 offers.
A goal for the German government is to explore and develop forward-looking new technologies that will lay the groundwork for Germany’s future. The companies exhibiting at Research & Technology are a crucial part of this effort, and so German Education and Research Minister Annette Schavan once again serves as honorary chair of Research & Technology in the coming year. German industry enjoys global leadership for its broad range of innovations, according to the German government.
As the marketplace for research results and cutting-edge industrial products that presents innovations for tomorrow’s society every year at HANNOVER MESSE, Research & Technology offers an impressive overview of this performance. “Research & Technology is the interface between science and business, research and industry, fostering the necessary flow of information between these areas and guiding industry decision-makers quickly to innovative ideas, market-ready products and intelligent solutions. This means Research & Technology is also a perfect reflection of the HANNOVER MESSE theme of Integrated Industry,” says Oliver Frese, Deutsche Messe’s Senior Vice President for HANNOVER MESSE.
Exhibiting institutes, universities and companies in Hall 2 look towards the future and discuss with partners in business and politics the technological changes and developments needed to meet the challenges facing tomorrow’s industry. New services for research and development are on display along with discoveries in basic and applied research, and technologies, research locations and universities spotlight their strengths.
Extensive supporting program at Research & Technology
Research & Technology exhibitors traditionally host a major networking event in Hall 2 on the first evening of HANNOVER MESSE – the Night of Innovations. Here, big names from science, business and the political spheres come together to try to form a picture of what the technological future will look like.
Theme parks have long played a decisive role at Research & Technology, as they offer a perfect platform for discussing cross-industry trends and topics and for enhancing existing cooperation or forming new partnerships. Hall 2 is home to the following theme parks in the coming year: Adaptronics, WON – World of Nano, Bionics, Organic Electronics, Textile Solutions, tech transfer – Gateway2Innovation.
tech transfer – Gateway2Innovation
When it comes to more efficient processes and information, the place to look is tech transfer – Gateway2Innovation. “tech transfer” connects the idea people to those who need them, and decision-makers to creative minds – because innovation always starts with an idea. To bring the idea successfully to market, the right people and experts need to connect and nurture it from initial spark to application. For more than 10 years, “tech transfer – Gateway2Innovation,” an initiative of the HANNOVER MESSE exhibitor advisory council and Deutsche Messe, has been making this possible.
Second Idea and Innovation Manager Day
With its second Idea and Innovation Manager Day, Research & Technology continues this year’s successful event in 2013 – once again in synchronicity with international Idea Day. Cross-industry discussions of strategies, processes and methods for idea and innovation management are the focus.
