Russia shines at HANNOVER MESSE

April 17, 2013 - As the official Partner Country for HANNOVER MESSE 2013, Russia offered convincing evidence of its prowess as a major industrial nation. Boasting an impressive presentation of industrial expertise, the Partner Country emphasized its position as a partner in global trade and further consolidated its international business contacts. In particular, numerous discussions with representatives from German industry and the business community are expected to provide a real boost to business cooperation between Germany and Russia. “Russia’s Partner Country venture was a resounding success”, was the verdict of Dr. Jochen Köckler, member of the Managing Board at Deutsche Messe AG, on the closing day of HANNOVER MESSE. He continued: “Russia has showcased its considerable virtues as a forward-looking business partner with a vast range of solutions on offer. They have made excellent use of the many talks held at their stands as well as the various forums and special events to generate valuable leads, close deals and forge new business alliances for the future.”

HANNOVER MESSE 2013 was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Both leaders took part in the opening tour of the trade fair on the first day of the event.

Russia’s presentation in Hannover was a record-breaker. 176 Russian exhibitors took part in HANNOVER MESSE, occupying a display area totalling 5,000 square meters. The number of Russian exhibiting companies not only represented a record for Hannover – it was also the biggest contingent ever at any event outside Russia.

Without question, Russia's participation in HANNOVER MESSE 2013 has clearly demonstrated this nation’s broad range of industrial know-how. In addition to the central stand in Hall 26, Russia staged pavilions within the Energy, Research & Technology, Motion, Drive & Automation, IndustrialGreenTec and Metropolitan Solutions fairs staged under the umbrella of HANNOVER MESSE. At the Energy fair, alone, the Russian Energy Ministry occupied around 1,000 square meters of space with a broad display dedicated to the Russian energy sector. Approx. 200 top representatives from Russian business and government travelled to Hannover to take part in the supporting program, meetings and panel discussions. The keynote themes dominating these discussions were the investment opportunities offered by Russia, energy efficiency as well as the potential for collaboration in research, development and production.
