UAE installs OSI SCADA System
May 16, 2014 - Open Systems International and Global Energy Technologiesy delivered a SCADA system for RAK Investment Authority (RAKIA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
RAKIA is an independent government body in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), UAE. RAKIA’s core mission is to develop and manage Industrial Estates including free and non-free zones in Al Hamra area, about 15 kms away from Ras Al Khaimah City and in Al Ghail, 40 kms away from Ras Al Khaimah City. Today, around 7000 companies including 500 manufacturers are operating from the two purpose-built business parks of the RAKIA region.
RAKIA’s new SCADA system is based on OSI’s monarch (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform and includes OSI’s .NET based Graphical User Interface (GUI); Advanced Alarm Management System; Real-time and Historical Trending and analytics; and Communications Front-end Processor software products. In subsequent phases, Other Smart Grid and Micro Grid applications will be implemented.
