API Receives Avaya Services Certification

April 9, 2013 - API Technologies announced the ION SA5600-SAL: Avaya SAL Edition is now Avaya Services Certified. The ION SA5600-SAL is a security appliance with an embedded Avaya Secure Access Link (SAL) Gateway that provides IP and secure dial-up connectivity to Avaya and heritage Nortel systems. It allows technicians, service providers, and support services to conduct remote troubleshooting and maintenance of critical systems.

"For organizations with limited technical resources, the ION SA5600-SAL packaged solution offers a convenient way to realize the leading security and fast trouble resolution benefits of SAL quickly and cost effectively," said Henry Gold, General Manager, SSIA International, API Technologies. "It is ideal for Avaya customers who want a plug-and-play solution to deploy the Avaya SAL Gateway."

The ION SA5600-SAL is pre-configured with the SAL Gateway, and its plug-and play properties enable it to be installed in under 10 minutes.  It supports up to 400 managed devices and eliminates the need for a dedicated server, a RedHat license, and a skilled engineer with Linux knowledge. The appliance comes with a built-in modem for dial-up access and is available in a 2-, 4-, or 8-port model.

Secure Systems and Information Assurance (SSIA) products by API Technologies provide security for both government and commercial customers worldwide. Featured product lines include the EMCON (USA & Canada) and SST (Europe) brands, the Netgard line of security, and encryption products and the ION Networks line of network security devices for remote device management.
