Show Attendees Will Learn How Autodesk’s DWF Technology Reduces Errors and Shortens Design Approval Workflow to Get Products to Market Faster

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., March 16, 2006—Autodesk, Inc. today announced that Jonathan Knowles, Autodesk Global Collaboration Strategist, will present at National Manufacturing Week 2006 (www.manufacturingweek.com) (Chicago, IL) on Tuesday, March 21st at 11:00am. Located under the Enterprise IT / Supply Chain & Logistics track (nmw.conferencepath.com/speakerlist/?action=showsessions&userid=9577), Knowles will present Autodesk’s vision and perspective for best practices manufacturers can implement to realize their ideas and collaborate more effectively with Autodesk manufacturing solutions (usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=5982524).

Jonathan Knowles will share how Autodesk customers are standardizing on DWF technology and benefiting today. For example, Siemens L&A (www.siemens.com), the world’s leading supplier of logistics and factory automation solutions, switched from distributing paper-based drawings to Autodesk digital design collaboration processes. Doing so, Siemens L&A had streamlined access to design information to more than 1,700 employees including shop floor personnel, upper management, and external suppliers; drastically reduced the design approval cycles to less than an hour, rather than three days; and decreased manufacturing errors, such as parts being built to the wrong spec level. Mr. Knowles will demonstrate how attendees and their teams can realize similar benefits.

Jonathan Knowles’ session “Leveraging Technology to Reduce Manufacturing Errors, Shorten Design Approval Workflows and Get Products to Market Faster” will take place from 11:00-11:50AM on Tuesday, March 21st in Room 51—session number 2E42.
