Baumüller Introduces Three-phase, Synchronous, Linear Motors
Convincing advantages of the DSL motor series from Baumüller.

Nuremberg/Hartford. The DSL motors of the drive specialist Baumüller offer clear advantages compared to the conventional pneumatic drives: the highly dynamic, electronically controlled motors significantly increase the reproducibility of the manufactured products.

The DSL 56 from Baumüller is characterized by its compactness, excellent dynamic response qualities and peak powers for linear motion. The Baumüller servomotors and integrated (roller/ball) screws combine to produce the highest dynamic response in a compact frame size. The DSL 56 is ideal for applications in the automotive and handling or printing and plastics industries.

The repeating accuracy and control features of the DSL motors put conventional pneumatic motors in the shade. The reproducibility of the products shows a marked increase.

An example from the robotics industry clearly illustrates the advantages of the DSL series: the DSL 56 is optimally employed to control electrode holders. In contrast to conventional pneumatic linear drives, the DSL 56, used in combination with the b maXX from Baumüller, can continuously control the entire motion cycle of the welding process in accordance with the required force. Inaccuracies caused by compressible media can therefore be eliminated. The process is reproducible and offers high repeating accuracy. The high dynamic response qualities of the DSL 56 pave the way for faster and more precise welding processes.

The DSL 56 is available in two versions: the roller screw is used for highforce and high-speed applications. The less expensive ball screw, on the other hand, is ideal for simpler applications.
