Bosch Rexroth to Double its Production Capacity in Brazil

September 302005
Company to expand its production facilities for hydraulic components

(POMERODE, BRAZIL) Bosch Rexroth AG, parent company of Bosch Rexroth Corporation (Hoffman Estates, IL) plans to invest 40 million Euro to expand its production facilities for hydraulic components and complete hydraulic modules in Pomerode, Brazil. The investment doubles the company's production capacity in Pomerode and will raise the number of employees to approximately 1,000 by the year 2014.

Bosch Rexroth has been manufacturing valves, valve blocks, pumps, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic power units since 1964. The expansion will enable Bosch Rexroth’s Pomerode facility to manufacture gear pumps and control blocks for mobile hydraulics. It will also allow the company to supply a greater number of its plants in the United States with preliminary products. More and more products destined for U.S. customers will be produced in Pomerode.

Bosch Rexroth is rapidly increasing its activities around the globe. Over the past two years, the company has expanded its production facilities in Slovenia, Hungary and China and is in the process of building a new plant in Turkey. The additional facilities supplement the lead plants in Germany, which serves as the prime location for development and special production techniques. Bosch Rexroth manufactures large quantities of products by using standardized production methods and processes in various locations worldwide. “The interaction between lead plants and production plants creates a global production process that gives Bosch Rexroth a long-term competitive edge,” states Manfred Grundke, CEO of Bosch Rexroth AG.

Apart from Pomerode, Bosch Rexroth also has a plant in Atibaia, Brazil. The company currently has approximately 80 sales partners and 660 employees in Brazil, 360 of whom are located in Pomerode.

Brazil is the world’s fifth-largest country and is currently experiencing dramatic growth of its economy and export capacity. Pomerode is the main production site for Bosch Rexroth in Brazil and is located in the state of Santa Catarina in the industrial south region.
