DVT Releases Ethernet I/O Assembly, Intelligent Breakout Board & Industrial Power Supply
Company now provides more complete vision solution

Duluth, GA, April 2, 2004 –DVT is marketing three new products—an Ethernet I/O assembly, an industrial power supply, and an intelligent breakout board—that complement the company’s line of Legend family of machine vision systems and provide a more complete industrial machine vision solution.

“As more manufacturers adopt machine vision, they want a vision system that is easy to integrate and constitutes a total vision solution from one vendor,” commented Bob Steinke, DVT Chairman and CEO. “These products fill this need, fit perfectly with our existing product line, and will make a significant difference as our customers apply DVT machine vision systems.”

Phoenix Contact Inc., a leading manufacturer of electronic components and automation connection systems, is brand labeling the extended I/O assembly and power supplies for DVT.

The Ethernet I/O Assembly, CON-IOE, provides eight outputs and eight inputs (all of which are expandable) for a total of 24 inputs and outputs when combined with the existing eight digital I/O on DVT Legend family of machine vision systems.

“Our integrators always want more I/O and we are sensitive to that,” commented Jim Jordan, DVT Director of Operations. “CON-IOE provides that and more.”

CON-IOE, which lists for $650, includes an integrated D-sub breakout module to tie in cameras directly. Up to eight additional breakout modules can be added. The preassembled I/O rail assembly also features removable wiring harnesses that enable users to easily replace modules with no rewiring. Setup for CON-IOE is through a wizard now but will be integrated in a new release of FrameWork, DVT’s Windows-based software, due out later this year.

The industrial power supply, ACC-24I, provides two amps of continuous current. The switched power supply accepts 100 to 240 volts on input and outputs 24 volts (with adjustable output between 24 ½ and 28 ½ VDC). The power boost feature allows the power supply to handle up to 4 amps for brief periods. The DIN rail mountable power supply, which lists for $125, is UL and CUL rated.

The Intelligent Breakout Board, CON-IBOB, which retails for $300, adds G4 module cradles for optical relays to optically isolate I/O as well as status LEDs for each of the I/O lines. Having the ability to optically isolate I/O is always a good electrical practice and can protect a valuable vision investment from significant damage.

DVT attributes its success to the company philosophy of ‘Servant Leadership.’ This means putting the needs of our customers ahead of our own needs. Instead of asking ‘What’s in it for me?’ we ask our customers ‘How may I serve you?’ Agape is a Greek term meaning Unconditional Love. DVT’s Agape Support is Unconditional.
