Emerson promotes Jim Nyquist to President of Global Sales
"Jim is an ideal choice to lead our sales efforts around the world, helping our customers improve their business performance," said John Berra, president of Emerson Process Management. "We are excited to name Jim to this leadership position where his demonstrated ability to understand customer needs will extend our leadership in process automation. Jim has lived and worked in multiple world areas and has been a division president. I am confident that he will be a great addition to my leadership team."
"One thing that I've learned working with our customers in different world areas is that they all want to run their plants more efficiently; saving energy, monitoring equipment health and asset optimization," said Jim Nyquist, new president of global sales for Emerson Process Management. "PlantWeb is designed to help with these very tasks. Right now, we have enormous interest in wireless technology and Emerson is on the cutting edge. It is an exciting time for Emerson Process Management."
Nyquist has had a 30-year career with Emerson that includes world area roles in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Most recently he was president of Emerson Process Management Europe (2004-2007). Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University.
Emerson Process Management recently announced a 17 percent rise in fiscal 2007 sales that continues a multi-year run of strong results. Growth in Process Management helped fuel the growth of its parent, Emerson, which saw 12 percent growth in fiscal 2007 sales, its third consecutive year of double-digit growth in sales and earnings per share.
