Encoder Technology Announces A New Line of Extreme Duty, Caustic Wash Down Optical Encoders

Cottonwood, AZ. Encoder Technology announced the immediate availability of a new line of Extreme Duty, Caustic Wash Down Optical Encoders. These compact heavy-duty hollow shaft and shafted encoders are designed to exceed IP66/IP67 and NEMA 6 enclosure requirements and are also available in stainless steel and exceed NEMA 4X and NEMA 6P.

This compact, robust Encoder series design HS20, S20 and S25 are based on Encoder Technology’s proven HD2.0, HD2.5 and HS20 product line, which has become the new industry standard for meeting stringent wash down environments. With 100 lb. Axial and Radial Bearings, -40 to +100C temperature range and unique labyrinth double sealed housing design, these shafted and hollow shaft designs have been heartily accepted in applications where high pressure, steam or caustic chemicals are needed to meet regulatory requirements. Redundant versions are also an option.

This encoder series is also available in an Intrinsically Safe version, which is certified to ATEX EEx ia IIB T4, when used with the appropriate IS Barrier which can be supplied with the encoder.
