Endress + Hauser--New Liquid Level Switch Extends Range of Harsh Applications
April 11, 2002, Greenwood, Indiana– Endress+Hauser introduces the new Liquiphant M – FTL 51C vibration limit switch for point level detection in liquids. The new FTL 51C features a variety of corrosion-resistant coatings, which allows the switch to be used in aggressive chemical applications. As with all Liquiphant products, it can be used with the Nivotester FTL 325 Switch Repeater for remote switching when the intrinsically safe sensor is installed in hazardous areas. Together, the sensor with PFM electronics and remote switch repeater is the only liquid level switch system on the market approved for use in Safety Instrumented Systems up to SIL3 according to International Standard IEC 61508 and ANSI/ISA S84.01 (certificate available from E+H). The Nivotester serves as not only the loop power supply for the sensor, and the remote relay unit for the status output, it also serves as the I.S. barrier between the hazardous and safe areas. It is available as either a DIN rail mounted unit, or in a 19” rack mount configuration, and can be ordered as a single, or three-channel unit for connecting up to 3 level sensors.
