'Factory Automation' Sharpens Its Focus on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

HANNOVER MESSE 2006, 24 April to 28 April

The special display "Robotics World" at "Factory Automation" centres on ground-breaking automation applications

End-to-end automation solutions have a determining influence on competitiveness in all sectors of industry. Under the umbrella of HANNOVER MESSE (Hannover Fair) 2006 the flagship fair "Factory Automation" will present the latest products, systems and services for a complete spectrum of industrial applications. The exhibitors come from a whole range of business sectors: mechanical, electrical and plant engineering, electronics, the automotive and component supply industry, the iron and steel industry, the primary products and capital goods industry, as well as the food and pharmaceutical industries. In all cases the spotlight will be on integrated automation solutions that pave the way to greater flexibility.

Robotics World at HANNOVER MESSE 2006 now with an even clearer orientation towards practical applications

Deutsche Messe AG will be staging a dedicated robotics show under the umbrella of HANNOVER MESSE 2006. This show is targeted at major industrial players, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing and processing sectors. Factory Automation 2006 is more closely geared to practical applications than ever before. Hall 17 will be a mecca for robot-based automation - hence the programmatic title "Robotics World". Visitors from all sectors of industry will have the opportunity to tune into the latest technologies and applications at the following four special presentations:

Automation Live
Automation Live will be making its third appearance at HANNOVER MESSE. Once again the spotlight will be on innovative networked solutions for the automotive industry. In this context Volkswagen AG will provide a fascinating insight into the robot and assembly systems used for its new "Eos" convertible.

Robotics Applications Center
This highly successful event will once again showcase innovative automation solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in various sectors. Software companies and equipment manufacturers will be taking the wraps off new robot-based automation concepts for the electrical engineering and food industries.

Robotics Academy
A new event in 2006, the Robotics Academy will inform visitors about the scope for deploying robots in a range of different industries. The line-up will include a program of brief seminars plus an opportunity to obtain "hands-on" experience with industrial robots. Hence the attendees will be in an ideal position to weigh up the costs and benefits of deploying robot technology. The Robotics Academy has been organized in cooperation with Volkswagen Coaching GmbH, Wolfsburg.

Automation Applications Clinic
This new highlight is designed to provide detailed guidance for users of automation technology. Experts from the Production Engineering Centre at Hannover University will arrange direct contacts with specialist suppliers of automation components/systems who are exhibiting at HANNOVER MESSE. The goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the increasing diversity of automation solutions and to foster direct links between suppliers and users.

Factory Automation Forum
The robotics line-up at HANNOVER MESSE 2006 will be rounded off by the Factory Automation Forum. The emphasis here will be on the latest trends and solutions in the field of production automation. The Forum is aimed at a broad cross-section of user industries - from mechanical engineering to food /semi-luxury products.
