Fluke invites student entries in Fluke Connect Contest
September 15, 2014 – Fluke Corporation invites students enrolled in two and four year colleges, universities, trade/tech schools, and apprenticeship programs to demonstrate their skills and innovation in the Fluke Connect Student Contest. Three members of the first place team and their adviser will receive a paid trip to visit Fluke Park in Seattle for three days and two nights. The school’s department will win $1,000 worth of Fluke tools, and the Fluke Connect tools used in the contest submission, worth approximately $2,500.
To enter, student teams must select an adviser who is a member of the Fluke Education Partnership Program and design a project that uses the Fluke Connect wireless tools and app to improve operations for a facility or client. Applications and business cases are due by October 10th. A panel of judges will select five finalist teams to compete, each of which will receive up to ten Fluke Connect tools to implement their project. The teams have four weeks to make their project work and to submit their final report, including photos and/or videos. Winners will be decided according to 75 percent evaluation by the panel of judges and 25 percent on the public vote. Winners will be announced by December 8th.
Fluke Connect is the newest and most innovative set of wireless test tools Fluke has created to date. When connected to a smart phone app, Fluke Connect allows maintenance technicians, electricians, and reliability engineers to capture, store, and share data across their entire team without leaving the field. It provides instant access to data and measurements from smart phones to review images, check reports, spot trends, and more, helping teams to get their jobs done better and faster.
Applications and business cases are due by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time October 10th. For Fluke Connect Student Contest rules, timeline, and application, visit: www.fluke.com/fcstudentcontest.
