Green Hills Software integrates with LiveDevices’ RTA-OSEK Operating System

Leading IDE and OSEK RTOS Lower Development Costs for Embedded Automotive Systems

DETROIT, MI, CONVERGENCE 2006 — October 17, 2006 — Green Hills Software, Inc., and LiveDevices Ltd., announced that the RTA-OSEK RTOS has been integrated with the MULTI® integrated development environment (IDE). Developers of automotive ECU software can now reduce their development time, produce code with fewer bugs and lower their production cost with Green Hills Software’s industry-leading ECU development tools combined with RTA-OSEK.

With more than ten thousand users over many years, MULTI is by far the most mature and proven technology for optimizing automotive ECU software. Among many others, companies such as Ford and Toyota have relied on MULTI for the successful development of their products. The MULTI IDE provides powerful debugging, editing, configuration management, code browsing, and other components vital to the ECU software developer’s toolbox. MULTI’s optimizing C, C++ and EC++ compilers generate the fastest and smallest code for 32-bit processors such as the Freescale MPC555x. In addition, MULTI fully conforms to ANSI/ISO C and C++ implementations. To help developers detect bugs early in their development, MULTI provides an easy-to-use interface that automates rule-checking and team-wide enforcement of the MISRA-C:1998 and MISRA-C:2004 safe coding rules.

RTA-OSEK provides a production real-time operating system suitable for applications in all areas of automotive ECU design. It implements the AUTOSAR-OS V1.0 (SC-1) and OSEK/VDX OS V2.2.3 standard and is fully MISRA compliant. An extremely small and fast runtime kernel is supplied for more than 20 popular microcontrollers. The low overhead and advanced timing control features of RTA-OSEK are ideal for powertrain and chassis electronics applications.

RTA-OSEK is available today from LiveDevices, and MULTI is available today from Green Hills Software.
