Hannover Fairs USA appoints Larry Turner Interim CEO

July 28, 2011 - Hannover Fairs USA appointed Larry Turner as Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Turner served most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Roundhouse Advisors, a business management consulting and coaching company increasing enterprise value by managing growth plans, operational improvements and business owner exit strategies.  Turner has experience in a wide range of vertical markets, including high-technology, office automation, fully-integrated manufacturing and industrial automation, as well as medical device products and services.

“I am excited to be joining Hannover Fairs USA at such a pivotal time,” stated Turner.  “Foreign demand for U.S. products and services is soaring, particularly in Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.  I am pleased to have the opportunity to lead a talented team to help U.S. firms grow international sales by interacting with qualified global buyers and product distributors virtually all year long and on-site at our world-class trade fairs and conferences, such as CeBIT and HANNOVER MESSE.”

Previously, Turner held a series of positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of improving operations and sales in companies, such as BancTec, Bell & Howell, Canon and Wybron.  He serves on the Board of Directors for Heckers Development Group, an executive development company.  Turner also serves on the Supervisory Board of 18 Principles, a non-profit organization focused on providing tools for young adults to develop into productive adults and the Advisory Board for the Center of Innovation, a Metropolitan State College organization that helps students and community members realize their business and social entrepreneurial dreams.  Turner holds a BS in Marketing from DePaul University and an MBA from Northern Illinois University.  He is the author of two books "Owner Exit Planning: Leave on your own terms" and "Mapping Your Recovery: Grow sales in difficult times" and is a columnist for ColoradoBiz Magazine.

"The addition of Larry Turner to lead Hannover Fairs USA’s team at this time is a tremendous asset," said Götz Dörmann, Senior Vice President of Global Alliances at Deutsche Messe.  "His experience and insight will increase U.S. business attendance at our global trade fairs and raise awareness of our company’s matchmaking expertise and services."  Turner replaces Art Paredes, who is leaving the company at the end of January 2012 to pursue other opportunities.

In commenting upon  Paredes contributions to Hannover Fairs USA,  Dörmann said, “Art did a great job in working with exhibitors across the country, as well as U.S. economic and trade entities to encourage attendance at our global fairs and conferences.  He has tremendous passion and Hannover Fairs USA’s future is bright as a result of his tenure with the company.”

Hannover Fairs USA announced earlier this year that it is offering a new series of comprehensive exhibitor packages to U.S. small and medium-sized technology companies.  These affordable packages will allow smaller technology businesses a unique opportunity to reach qualified decision-makers at a global level during the CeBIT 2012 trade fair and conferences, March 6–10, 2012, in Hannover, Germany.
