Honeywell Expands Alert Manager Capabilities for Improved Asset Management

Phoenix, Arizona, January 28, 2002 — Honeywell [NYSE:HON] Industry
Solutions has released a new version of its Alert Manager
application—Release 140—that offers expanded integration capabilities for improved asset management by companies in the process industries.

Alert Manager is an open decision-support software system that collects and organizes data from a variety of plant information systems, analyzes the data, identifies equipment and process conditions that may lead to future failures, and notifies designated personnel so action can be taken before problems develop. The automated capability of Alert Manager to monitor, analyze, and respond to equipment, process, and control loop
degradation offers the user a window of opportunity for repair or
replacement of faulty equipment, thereby minimizing unplanned downtime, increasing plant availability, and avoiding incidents.

Data Scout, the newest functionality in Alert Manager Release 140, enables users to access data via OLE for Process Control (OPC) from a variety of data sources such as Honeywell’s TPS and PlantScape® control systems, the Uniformance® PHD historian, as well as other third-party information systems. As a result, users can create customized tests to generate symptoms based upon their own processes.

Other new functionality includes tools that:
-Verify all existing document links
-List and retrieve all Alert Manager assets, symptoms, and faults for use within other applications
-View, by a single client, multiple Alert Manager servers across the
enterprise, an especially handy capability for use with remote locations such as oil platforms.
