Honeywell Introduces Manufacturing Work Center to Unlock Business Potential

Phoenix, Arizona, February 8, 2002 — Honeywell [NYSE:HON] Industry
Solutions today introduced its Manufacturing Work Center, a collaborative data visualization application that provides enterprise visibility to manufacturing information for improved business results in the process industries.

The Manufacturing Work Center is designed to serve the information needs of a broad community of users—within a company or even extending to supply chain partners—who require a wide variety of data about operations or production. The application is the cornerstone product of Honeywell’s recently introduced Collaborative Manufacturing Strategy, which provides the means for real-time coordination, visibility, and responsiveness across the enterprise.

The Manufacturing Work Center delivers a highly dynamic experience for end users, enabling increased effectiveness and productivity for personnel at all levels of the organization. The browser-based data visualization application provides multiple views of information, such as trends, dynamic graphics, and data tables. It can display data from multiple data sources such as process historians, lab data systems, and production tracking systems—all in a common user interface.

All information seekers—from engineers and operators to managers and
supervisors to executives—can view near-real-time, historical, and
aggregated data in a single window, giving maximum visibility to plant information across the enterprise and supply chain.

Greg Irving, Vice President of Honeywell Industry Solutions Technology, said, “The Manufacturing Work Center creates a virtual envelope around existing plant information management systems, providing a seamless point of entry, regardless of underlying databases and historians.

“Increasingly today,” Irving said, “getting the right information to the right person in a timely fashion can significantly impact a manufacturer’s bottom line, making the need for universal access to information a vital concern. With so many information sources to keep up with, finding and deploying the right tools to make the most of that information is a challenge. Our new product meets that challenge.”

The Manufacturing Work Center is designed from the ground up for the
specific data visualization needs of today’s manufacturers. It is unique in a market where there are numerous and confusing options for data visualization. The Manufacturing Work Center boasts many distinctive benefits, such as easy implementation; quickest return on investment; lowest life-cycle costs for maintenance, support, and training; and maximum productivity for end users.

The Manufacturing Work Center introduction is the first in a series of planned Honeywell product announcements supporting its Collaborative Manufacturing Strategy.
