TIANJIN, China, August 19, 2003 – Honeywell (HON: NYSE) Industrial Measurement and Control today opened a center for assembling smart pressure transmitters in Tianjin, China. The 660-square-meter facility, which employs 100 local residents, will provide the Asia-Pacific region with products designed to measure pressure, flow, and level in industrial processes.

“This is another example of Honeywell’s plans to strengthen its China operations and to expand throughout the growing Asia- pacific region,” said John O’Higgins, President, Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions Asia Pacific. “This center will allow us to better serve our customers in the region with faster response, shorter delivery times and local support.”

The Tianjin Assembly Center will receive and stock electronics and other core transmitter components from Honeywell’s U.S. manufacturing facility. Tianjin employees will assemble, calibrate, package and ship the final product.

“Customers can be assured they will receive only top-quality products,” said Yue Sheng Jiang, Manager of the Tianjin Assembly Center. “Quality control systems are in place, all workers are fully trained and certified, and a team from our U.S. factory oversees quality issues.”
