Honeywell Receives More Than $100 Million In Orders For Experion PKS

Phoenix, Arizona, June 12, 2002 — The Industry Solutions business of
Honeywell [NYSE:HON] announced that it has generated more than $100
million in orders since announcing its new system, Experion PKS™, less than two months ago.

Designed for industrial operations, Experion PKS improves the control, monitoring and management of complex production processes. The new system introduces an innovative Process Knowledge System™ approach that provides employees with advanced tools and technologies that enable them to capture and share knowledge, increasing productivity and profitability throughout their organization.

Today’s industrial businesses are primarily managed around the
manufacturing process itself. A Distributed Control System (DCS),
pioneered by Honeywell in the 1970’s and offered by numerous suppliers today, is designed to control and manage that process with a focus on operations. A Process Knowledge System is designed to control the entire scope of production, addressing the needs of operations, maintenance, engineering, and business personnel. It incorporates and builds upon best-in-class DCS technology to provide site-wide information, management, and workflow optimization for all employees regardless of their job function or working environment.

Experion PKS provides this capability through a variety of new and
patented technologies including “industrial” wireless, fault tolerant Ethernet, abnormal event and alarm management, digital video and Human Machine Interfaces. These technologies enable employees to be highly productive, allowing them to capture and manage knowledge efficiently and give them more time for higher-value activities. This knowledge-driven environment ensures that the right people have access to the right information at the right time -to collaborate and make decisions wherever their work takes them.

“Successful companies realize the value of knowledge and work flow
management toward increasing productivity and profitability, especially when the workforce is decreasing due to downsizing and other factors” said Terry Sutter, President of Honeywell Industry Solutions. “The tools and technologies embedded in Experion PKS help to capture and magnify the existing knowledge level and value within organizations to realize untapped productivity.”
