Honeywell Showcases Solutions for Cost, Containment, Control, Compliance at N.Y. Interphex Conference

NEW YORK, March 31, 2003 – Honeywell’s (NYSE: HON) Industrial Measurement and Control (IM&C) unit will highlight its measurement and control products, beginning today, here at the Interphex Conference and Exhibition at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Set up for exhibit at booth 1731, these products are designed to help pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers better control their
manufacturing processes to ensure repeatable quality, improve efficiency, reduce costs and achieve regulatory compliance.

Honeywell Industrial Measurement and Control will highlight the following products at the show:

Measurement
Honeywell Lifetime Transmitters™ for pressure and temperature measurement reduce maintenance and instrument replacement costs by offering industry-leading accuracy, stability, reliability, turndown, plus a 15-year warranty - the industry’s best. Visitors can see the transmitters digitally integrated with Honeywell’s new Experion PKS™ Process Knowledge System.

The versatile Pocket PC-based Honeywell MC Toolkit configures, monitors, diagnoses and manages smart field instruments from Honeywell and other suppliers. This unique tool is designed to reduce costs and enhance productivity by handling multiple communications protocols, including Honeywell Digitally Enhanced (DE) and HART*.

Honeywell smart sensors and analytical instruments provide accurate,
reliable measurement of pH/ORP, conductivity, moisture and dissolved
oxygen. DirectLine® electronics modules reduce costs by mounting directly to the probe and providing a 4-2-mA output signal. Honeywell’s Durafet® II electrodes, the industry’s leading solid-state non-glass pH sensors, are available in sanitary versions to meet 3-A standards and can withstand the conditions of Steam-In-Place (SIP).

Data Acquisition
Honeywell paperless recorders incorporate the latest in color LCD
technology and data storage media and are supported by a powerful suite of Windows-based PC software packages that provide extensive data analysis, graphing and archiving facilities. An Extended Security System (ESS) option helps users comply with the requirements of FDA regulation 21 CFR Part 11. Available on the Honeywell Minitrend and Multitrend Plus paperless recorders, ESS maintains an audit trail of process events and operator actions and is password secured. Honeywell also simplifies validation by providing a Validation Protocol Assembler for IQ/OQ.

Hybrid Control
The HC900 Hybrid Controller combines loop and logic control with an
integrated operator interface in a single, cost-effective platform for small- to medium-sized unit processes. Peer-to-peer controller
communications allows for modular implementation of larger processes, and Ethernet communications facilitates integration into plant-wide networks. Typical applications include control of fermenters and sterilizers.
