EVERETT, Wash., March 8, 2004 - Intermec Technologies Corp. today announced participation in the RFID Technology in Logistics Seminar during AIM's (Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility) Global Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, March 8-11, 2004.

Intermec's Mike Nichols, manager of systems consulting with 30 years of radio frequency experience, will present a course entitled "Understanding RFID in the Wireless Environment" during the RFID Technology in Logistics Seminar on March 11. The course will include an overview of RFID tags, standards, protocols, RFID reader education, interference issues, tag and reader performance issues and site surveys.

The AIM seminar is designed to provide transportation, logistics and manufacturing organizations unbiased RFID technical information and guidance.

"Intermec brings years of RFID development and implementation experience to the attendees at AIM's Logistics Seminar," said Dan Mullen, president of AIM Global. "This is more than a membership meeting and seminar. It is a true educational experience."

RFID, a complement to current bar code-based tracking systems, allows companies to automatically track inventory throughout an entire supply chain. Intermec RFID already is at work throughout the world, deployed in wide-ranging applications that include inventory and asset management, access control, compliance tracking, and personnel and vehicle identification.

"This is a rare opportunity for transportation and logistics companies to educate themselves on all aspects of RFID," said Intermec Vice President and AIM executive board member Scott Medford. "From a technical overview of the technology to standards development and status, attendees will walk away with the crucial information it takes to make an educated decision about RFID implementation."
