Invensys To Present Regulatory Compliance And Process Manufacturing Solutions At 2003 Biophex/Interphex Conference In San Jose

Invensys will share experience in implementing compliant clinical trials and process manufacturing solutions in regulated environments

NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS September 18, 2003 Invensys, a world leader in compliance and optimization solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing will present technologies and solution offerings to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries at the Biophex/Interphex California conference, September 23-25 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Cal. In addition to co-sponsoring the event, Invensys will be presenting seminars on improving operational efficiencies and validation processes and will showcase software and services offerings in these areas.

"As pharmaceutical manufacturers increasingly integrate diverse aspects of their businesses to speed regulatory compliance and gain other competitive advantages, events such as Biophex serve as valuable forums to learn about available solutions. Invensys is one of the few major automation vendors offering dedicated industry solutions to help validate processes, track costs and activities from dock to dock and automate batch management," said Sanjay Razdan, vice president for Invensys Production Solutions.

Tracking costs and activities will be the topic of a seminar that Invensys will be presenting at the conference on September 24, 2003. Entitled "Improve Your Operational Efficiencies, Increase Your Speed to Market, Cut Your Costs and Meet Regulatory Requirements," the seminar will provide case histories of companies who are using Protean software from Invensys to manage production and supply chain information in real time. The seminar will also cover software tools that aid in 21 CFR Part 11 validations, with features that support e-signatures, e-records and automated enforcement of validation policies and procedures, while also contributing to operational improvements with measurable impact on the bottom-line.

A systematic approach to validation will be the topic of a second seminar, to be presented on September 24, 2003 by Tania Simoncelli, a project manager for the Invensys Validation Technologies practices. In her seminar, entitled "Validating a Clinical Manufacturing Facility: a Case Study," she will draw on her extensive field experience in implementing validation to demonstrate a systems approach to integrating regulatory compliance throughout the pharmaceutical and biotechnology value chain. Part of her presentation will include a case study involving a validation master plan in an R&D facility expansion.

In addition to co-sponsoring the event and presenting the two seminars, Invensys will also be in Booth C1318 of the exhibit area demonstrating its Protean production optimization software, its validation services and its I/A Series batch automation solution for pharmaceutical manufacturing, life sciences and clinical processing facilities.
