New Nematron PowerView Touchscreen HMI Family Delivers Power and Performance at an Economical Price.
Ann Arbor, MI, June 12, 2002 (Amex: NMN) - Nematron Corporation, a leading developer of industrial automation products, introduces Nematron PowerView™, a family of touchscreen HMI units combined with an easy to use, Microsoft WindowsÒ based, screen design utility called ViewBuilder. The family includes five models, two 10.4” display panels (TFT and DSTN), a 7.7” DSTN and 5.7” STN model, all with 256 colors, plus a 5.7” STN panel with 4 shades of gray. Each model features a 133 MHz RISC processor, resistive touchscreens, and 4 MB of DRAM. Nematron also makes available over 35 PLC, PC and Servo Controller communication protocols to provide a seamless interface with both PLC and PC based control systems.

“Nematron is introducing the PowerView™ family in response to customer requests for high-performance, cost effective HMIs”, said Jim King, Nematron’s Vice-President of North American Sales, “and since screen design is critical for a complete HMI solution, ViewBuilder provides a comprehensive set of easy to use development tools and runtime capabilities that are sure to improve machine operation and uptime.”

The PowerView™ series expands the capabilities of one-screen-at-a-time HMIs by offering users multiple pop-up windows. Operators can utilize up to six windows simultaneously, with each one controlling a separate function. Control engineers can link alarms to corrective action pop-up screens, monitor multiple fault levels or supervise other single display HMIs. Master/Slave communication provides for multiple PowerView™ HMI units to be networked together with only a single connection required to the supported PLC. Engineers will also like the timesaving “on-line simulation” feature, which allows screen designs to be tested on the PC before downloading to the HMI.

Nematron Corporation has been setting the standard in PC-based control and Operator Interface since the birth of the industry. Nematron introduced the first industrial control computers, the first Windows NT/2000 based real-time control software and holds numerous patents on advanced control and information system components. Nematron’s customers number over 100,000 worldwide and include nearly every manufacturing industry. For additional information about Nematron visit the web site at www.nematron.com.
