SICK North America Announces Expanded Distribution Network in Michigan

Minneapolis, Minn., June 1, 2004 - SICK, a global leader in factory automation solutions, today announced that it has entered into distribution agreements with Madison Electric Company and Standard Electric Company for the distribution of the company’s complete line of industrial sensors, safety systems, and automatic identification products in Michigan. The new agreement will take effect immediately.

“The agreements allow SICK to expand and enhance its distribution network to better meet the needs of customers throughout Michigan,” stated Alberto Bertomeu, President of SICK North America. “This is an important step to ensure we provide the most efficient and effective means of supplying customers with innovative safety solutions, leading technology in industrial sensors, and reliable automatic identification systems. We now have the added expertise of a larger distribution network to offer end users, system integrators, and OEMs greater service and convenience,“ concluded Bertomeu.

The two new Authorized SICK Distributors will provide coverage of the State of Michigan. Madison Electric Company will provide service and support to customers in the Detroit Metropolitan area, including the counties of St. Clair, Macomb, Wayne, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Oakland. Standard Electric Company will service all customers outside the Detroit Metropolitan area through its 20 branches, including its 4 branches in the Upper Peninsula (dba UP Electric Wittock Supply Company).
