Partnership with St. Louis institution will provide state-of-the-art learning tools

ALPHARETTA, Ga., Dec. 4, 2002 - Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. (SE&A), today announced that it will provide Ranken Technical College of St. Louis, Mo., with new industrial control products to completely outfit the institution's Industrial Electricity and Electronics Technology program.

Part of an industry/academic partnership between Atlanta-based SE&A and Ranken, the new equipment is valued at $100,000. Included in this amount is product training for Ranken faculty and staff. Equipment is currently in use to further students' hands-on training and will be moved to the College's renovated 2,500-square-foot Industrial Electronics lab in early 2003.

The Siemens equipment, which was secured through SE&A and parent Siemens AG, includes industrial motors, motor controls, operator panels, power distribution systems and automation components. A "Business Development" component of SE&A's Power Distribution and Industrial Controls Division was responsible for initiating and steering this partnership.
