TURCK, Inc--New Terminal Chamber Junction Box offers Homerun Field Wiring Flexibility for Wire Consolidation
Minneapolis, MN–March 15, 2002–TURCK Inc. has announced a new addition to the eurofast® junction box product line, the Terminal Chamber multibox®. This new style junction box uses the industry standard M12 connector to attach to the device and allows field wiring of the homerun cable with a choice of termination, either screw terminals or cage clamps. Terminal junction boxes provide flexibility for wire consolidation in applications where the homerun cable may need to be replaced due to damage or retrofitting installations.

The junction boxes have 4 or 8 ports, dual output per port, and a choice of die-cast zinc with EMC cable gland or industrial hardened plastic (PBT) with a jumper option for isolated power supply between the odd and even ports. The connecting terminals located inside the terminal hood have 2 power supply connections. Minimum current rating is 10A, with a maximum of 12A for 4-port and 16A for 8-port versions. Both versions of junction box offer a power rating of 3A per port, voltage range of 10-30 VDC and protection rating of IP 68.

The plastic version box has two green LEDs for dual power circuits and two yellow LEDs per port for signal indication. The metal boxes have a single green LED for power indication. Cable for use as a homerun connection to the junction box is available from TURCK as well as other connector style junctions, such as picofast® M8, and minifast®. Junction boxes offer a convenient way to maintenance, identify and consolidate machine or panel wiring from multiple of I/O devices such as sensors and actuators.
