Weidmuller Inc. Introduces New Specialized Inkjet Print System

CHICAGO (March 3, 2003)—Weidmuller Inc. announces its newest printing system for terminal blocks, wire/cables, and equipment markers: the PrintJet. Based on Inkjet technology, the PrintJet truly redefines print quality, ease of use, and speed for industrial marking products.

By adding a specially engineered ink fixing unit to the final marking process, the PrintJet raises the bar of conventional inkjet performance to a higher level. The result is a marked tag that has unsurpassed print or legibility quality coupled with extreme resistance to environmental conditions. The ink is absolutely permanent and ready to use immediately after the card leaves the print – no drying time!

Like other Inkjets, Weidmuller’s PrintJet utilizes easy to use, disposable ink cartridges. The PrintJet frees up time and mess with virtually zero clean up or expensive clogged pens to clean or replace.
Designed to work exclusively with Weidmuller’s MultiCard format, the PrintJet typically prints a full card of 240 tags in one minute. Speed and quality of the print (1440 dpi) alone makes the new system extremely attractive. Add Weidmuller’s custom, Window’s-based software, M-Print 1.6PJ, and you have tremendous flexibility at your finger tips. And, unlike typical X-Y plotters with only one font to choose from, the PrintJet can print any True-Type font. Complete customization of each character including size, font type, bold, underline, etc., are not only possible but extremely easy to do. M-Print software, free with the purchase of the printer, is Windows-based and compatible with all MS operating systems. This means fast startup time and no specialized training necessary. Simply input the numbers or text and hit the print button.
The PrintJet lists for $3,529.00 and will be available in May, 2003.
