Wieland's Screw Clamp/IDC Hybrid Terminal Block Receive Approvals
BURGAW, N.C. (February 14, 2003) – Wieland Electric Inc, a leading manufacturer of DIN rail terminal blocks, announces the hybrid series of insulation displacement contact (IDC) terminal blocks has received UL and CSA approvals. As a recent addition to the most comprehensive IDC line in the industry, these feed-through terminal blocks offer IDC terminations on one side for rapid pre-wiring and a screw clamp termination on the other side for field connections.

IDC technology allows instant contact between clamping body and solid or stranded wire by piercing the wire insulation with a single motion with no stripping of the wire needed. This process allows for quick, clean and strong connections with no special tools required. In addition, Wieland’s design moves the IDC clamp to engage the stationary wire, resulting in a more reliable connection. The taris hybrid IDC block has exceeded the UL wire pull-out standards to ensure superior connections for industrial applications.

The taris hybrid IDC terminal blocks are available in 1mm and 2.5mm single feed through and ground versions. The 1 mm version accommodates 22-12 AWG for screw technology and 24-18 AWG for IDC technology; the 2.5mm version accommodates
22-10 AWG for screw clamp technology and 18-14 AWG for IDC technology. Product is currently in stock and available for immediate use.
