Wonderware--InTouch Software First HMI to Qualify for Windows XP Logo Certification

LAKE FOREST, Calif., Sept. 19, 2002 -- Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys plc, today announced that its InTouch(R) human-machine-interface (HMI) visualization product is certified to use the Microsoft(R) "Designed for Windows(R) XP" logo. The InTouch HMI is the first to earn this prestigious certification, and Wonderware can now display the logo on InTouch software.

"This certification from Microsoft is exciting news for the InTouch product because the 'Designed for Windows XP' logo is the most difficult level a software product can achieve for Windows XP," said Renee Robinson, Wonderware's product marketing manager for visualization products. "InTouch software can now take advantage of new XP features, and system administrators can easily install and remove drivers from the XP platform."

According to Microsoft, there are three levels of XP certification, in ascending order of stature: "Compatible with Windows XP," "Optimized for Windows XP" and "Designed for Windows XP." Software that is "Designed for Windows XP" has met all of the Microsoft Windows logo program requirements, can display the "Designed for Windows XP" logo and will be listed in the
Windows catalog.

About InTouch Software
In 1991, Wonderware revolutionized industrial automation with InTouch software, the first object-oriented software based on Windows for the plant floor. The InTouch HMI also was the first product in its class to support the Windows 2.0, 3.11, 95, XP and Windows NT(R) operating systems, and it introduced wizards and keyless licensing to the industrial marketplace. The InTouch product is an integral part of Wonderware's FactorySuite(R) integrated product line.

Wonderware's InTouch software is now being upgraded with the new Invensys ArchestrA(TM) technology platform. ArchestrA is a comprehensive plant automation and information architecture designed from the outset to extend the life of legacy systems by leveraging the latest software technologies. ArchestrA architecture enables every system in the plant to work in concert.
