Wieland Electric Introduces Industrial Multipole Connectors With Spring Clamp Technology
BURGAW, N.C. (June 30, 2003) – Wieland Electric, Inc introduces an extension to its existing line of spring clamp contact inserts and terminal adaptors for industrial multipole connectors. The addition of spring clamp insert adaptors allows Wieland to offer a complete product range for each connection type; contact inserts with spring-clamp, screw-clamp and crimp contact connections.

The revos family of multipole connectors with spring clamp technology offer a flexible and universal connection that allows the connection of solid, stranded and finely stranded conductors of 0.14 – 2.5mm2 , or 6 AWG to 12 AWG, as well as making it possible to connect finely stranded conductors of 2.5mm2 with crimp ferrules with insulating shrouds. The spring clamp connections require no special tools, only a screwdriver is needed for proper termination.

Another feature of the spring-clamp contact inserts and terminal adapters is the ability to clearly mark all clamping positions with an unobstructed view of the marking tags. The feature provides clear assignment of the conductor to the clamping point during wiring and simplifies trouble shooting when carrying out maintenance tasks. Measurement of the voltage and current is possible at each clamping point, even when the conductor is terminated, via the integrated test sensor. These spring clamp multipole connectors have a current rating of 16A and a voltage rating of 600V.
