Belden to present Industrial Ethernet Infrastructure Design Seminar
June 26, 2014 – Belden will host its 2014 Industrial Ethernet Infrastructure (IEI) Design Seminar on Sept. 21-24, 2014, in Houston. The annual event enables those who design or maintain industrial Ethernet networks to gain valuable insights and hands-on experience for mission-critical Ethernet networking.
“The shift to industrial Ethernet has provided many benefits, from enhanced visibility to simplified network design, but we know some may struggle to create a reliable infrastructure that’s expandable for the future,” said Mike Miclot, vice president of industrial marketing at Belden. “For those seeking a simple and proven approach, this event brings Belden experts together with customers, system integrators and partners. It’s a unique ‘learning by doing’ environment, where the sessions are practical, no-nonsense and our experts ‘tell it like it is.’”
Taking into account the distinct requirements of industrial networks, the more than 20 presentations and ten hands-on labs offered through the IEI Design Seminar cover both introductory and advanced topics related to key areas of network design, isolation, redundancy and security. Attendees will leave with an understanding of the future of industrial Ethernet, and recommendations for dealing with the evolution of manufacturing and production networks.
New for 2014, Belden has included:
- An oil and gas-specific track that will cover cable selection, network security and industrial wireless.
- A track focused on industrial wireless, with three dedicated sessions and two hands-on labs.
- A session on “IT for Controls and Controls for IT.”
In addition to covering hot topics, such as wireless, cyber security and general Ethernet networking, many sessions will share examples from key industries, including automotive, petrochemical plants, oil and gas, wind farms and transportation.
“To ensure attendees find the IEI Design Seminar relevant and useful, the content is 100 percent focused on industrial Ethernet networking,” adds Brian Oulton, vice president of strategic initiatives marketing at Belden. “You come away with the ability to reduce costs and maintenance, while increasing network reliability, to provide your organization with an immediate payback.”
Limited in size to approximately 200 attendees, the atmosphere at the event is friendly and informal. Belden experts from around the world, representing the market-leading Hirschmann, GarrettCom, Tofino Security and Belden brands, will lead the sessions and be available to answer questions, give advice and help companies customize their approach – from design to implementation.
An early innovator in industrial Ethernet, Belden knows Industrial IT and is delivering the next generation of industrial networking solutions. Its global brands – Hirschmann, GarrettCom and Tofino Security – are leading the way in the adoption of industrial Ethernet. With a purpose-built portfolio, Belden’s wired, wireless and embedded products deliver the highest confidence of reliability, availability and security.
