DASYLab supports UEI's serial and ARINC-429 Boards
Walpole, MA - October 3, 2007 - DNA-SL-501 serial (RS-232/422/485) I/O board and DNA-ARINC-5xx series ARINC-429 interfaces are now supported by DASYLab. The new serial and ARINC-429 support, combined with UEI’s existing support for its analog, digital and counter/timer interfaces, offers a unique new capability within DASYLab. Now scientists and engineers wishing to take advantage of DASYLab’s user friendly graphical programming interface have the ability to not only monitor and control analog and digital signals, but also to interface directly with avionics equipment over the ARINC-429 bus. The addition of serial I/O support allows the user to interface to a wide assortment of instrumentation supporting RS-232, 422 or 485 as well as control or monitor a host of other computer peripherals.

DASYLab is an extremely easy-to-use, yet powerful data acquisition and control package developed by measX GmbH & Co of Germany. The DNA-SL-501 is a 4-channel fully isolated RS-232/422/485 interface for UEI’s powerful PowerDNA Cube series. It offers sample data transfer rates up to 1 Mbps. The DNA-429-512 and DNA-429-566 are 12-channel ARINC-429 interface boards with 12 Rx channels or 6 TX / 6 RX channels respectively. ARINC-429 is the primary avionics bus on virtually all currently flying commercial and general aviation aircraft.

About the PowerDNA Cube
PowerDNA (Distributed Networked Automation)—is a compact (4 x 4 x 4” or 4 x 4 x 5.8”) Ethernet based data acquisition and control device. Each PowerDNA Cube consists of a core module (that holds the processor and network interface) along with three or six open I/O slots or layers. Users configure their system by selecting appropriate I/O boards from UEI’s extensive offering of analog input (with resolutions of 16, 18 or 24 bits, inputs to 100V or 0-20 mA), analog output (to 40V), digital input/output, counter/timer, quadrature encoder, CAN-bus interface, multi-port RS-232/42/485, and power conversion.

About UEI
Founded in 1990, UEI is a leader in the PC/Ethernet data acquisition and control, Data Logger/Recorder and Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) markets. Our I/O “Cube”is a compact, rugged platform, ideal for a wide variety of DAQ, Data Logging and Control applications. The “Cube” is uniquely flexible, accommodating up to 6 I/O boards from a selection of over 25 and allows you to precisely match the I/O configuration to your application. With analog, digital, counter, CAN-bus, Serial I/O and more, UEI will have the interface you need. UEI supports all popular Windows, Linux and Real-time operating systems, programming languages and applications packages including LabVIEW, MATLAB and DASYLab.
