DEACOM to supply ERP to Enterprise Specialty Products
A South Carolina-based manufacturer and supplier of antifoams for a number of industries, including wastewater treatment, coatings, and textiles, ESP was using QuickBooks and different databases and spreadsheets to manage its accounting, QC, formulas, and inventory tracking. These systems led to inefficiencies throughout the organization: as a result of the unpredictability of the receipt of raw materials, for example, the company had to increase inventory by 35% in order to build a raw material buffer.
"Our goal is to grow the business by continuing to provide high quality product coupled with a great customer experience," says Ben Fields, Office Manager at ESP. "To achieve this goal, we need to become a more efficient company by having real-time and accurate data to lean out our processes."
Fields and the owners of the company contacted Deacom, producer of the DEACOM chemical ERP system, based on its experience with batch process manufacturing. DEACOM was selected after a two-month software evaluation period, which included demonstrations by Sage Software, Inc. and IQMS.
Fields explains, "DEACOM is exactly the way we would lay out a system for our company. We feel we can easily grow into the system; likewise, the system can grow with us."
ESP is scheduled to complete its DEACOM ERP implementation in April of 2011.
