Description

Summit Dates: March 19-20, 2018
Training Course Dates: March 21-25, 2018

The current cyber security landscape presents a very diverse and chaotic picture of the threats facing industrial control system owners and operators. Attacks that cause physical damage or impact physical processes are no longer limited to theory or speculation. We've now seen several high-profile cases where malicious actors have successfully intruded, caused system damage, and impacted operations. Disruptive malware delivered through increasingly creative methods have found their way to plant floors encrypting critical files or in some cases wiping those files altogether. Our industrial control systems are as critical as ever and we need to be prepared to better defend them or face a turbulent future.

“In the digital world, we are entering a dangerous and very chaotic era for those that are unprepared" – Michael Assante, ICS Summit Chair
The annual ICS Security Summit brings together in-the-field practitioners and leading experts to share ideas, methods, and techniques for defending control systems. This year's SANS ICS Security Summit focuses on the theme “Who is in control of your control system?” In-depth presentations and interactive panel discussions will highlight real-world approaches that work and make a difference for the individuals fighting this fight every day. As an attendee, you'll walk away with actionable information that you can use to better secure your organization.

The ICS Security Summit will address a wide range of topics, including:

Understanding what an attack against your organization will look like (deconstructing real-world ICS attacks and technical threats)
Live attack demonstrations & the defenses needed to stop them
Case studies and success stories
System and organizational investment opportunities that reduce attacker effects
Future attack vectors on ICS
Physical security
Mitigations - Defenders, governance, and controls
