Logicamms to deploy MyDIALS performance management software

April 2, 2009 - myDIALS announced that LogiCamms Limited, one of Australia’s leading national electrical engineering and control systems companies, will deploy the myDIALS on-demand performance improvement platform. LogiCamms required a performance reporting management solution in order to gain real-time visibility into the operation and performance of its customers’ remotely located reclaimers, stackers and shiploaders operating in Australian mines and ports.

The decision to choose myDIALS followed a review in which two other solutions were evaluated. myDIALS’ Western Australian partner, OPX Solutions, secured the contract based on the solution’s technical features and capability, ease and speed of deployment, and cost-effective Software as a Service (SaaS)-based implementation.

LogiCamms is Australia’s leading machine and stockyard automation specialist with a long history in providing electrical engineering design, control system programming and commissioning for the mining machine industry. Its services cover unmanned operation of stockyard machines, supported by advanced stockpile management and anti-collision systems that allow reclaimer and stacker machines to operate within 10 meters of each other. All critical protection systems are backed up with redundant equipment.

“myDIALS will enable us to proactively manage the operating performance of our equipment wherever it is located and compare the data against industry best practice while at the same time providing us with the ability to maximize the productivity and efficiency of our customers’ business,” said Garry McGrechan, director and general manager, West Australia, LogiCamms. “As myDIALS provides LogiCamms with a SaaS-based approach, we didn’t need to purchase new hardware, which will reduce the project’s overall costs while ensuring deployment in a matter of a few weeks.”

Specifically, myDIALS will monitor key performance indicators for tonnage reclaimed, reclaimer efficiency and availability, the percentage of time spent on air digging, and reclaim rates.

In recent years, LogiCamms has completed work for organizations including Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, Pilbara Iron, BHP Iron Ore and BMA. The company has also completed projects in China, Laos and Tanzania.

myDIALS offers organizations the first performance management solution to effectively link and immediately present operations and business metrics as they change. The software surpasses the capabilities of current dashboard technology and provides an alternative to costly and resource-intensive business intelligence systems by placing the ability to visualize and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) directly in the hands of decision makers. By combining business and operational KPIs from heterogeneous systems, myDIALS delivers on-demand, actionable metrics and associated Key Performance Drivers (KPDs) to optimize decision making, drive aligned behavior and support company goals.
