MagneMotion to supply conveyors to Gentex Optics

March 9, 2012 - MagneMotion announced that Gentex Optics has chosen the Company’s MM LITE transport and positioning system for their optical lens manufacturing facility located in Dudley, MA.   Gentex Optics is a leading worldwide supplier of high performance, polycarbonate eyewear including prescription lenses, sunwear and military protective products. The MM LITE automation system will be used to transport lenses in a fast, efficient, clean and controlled manner between the various processes in the plant.

“We are very excited to be working with Gentex Optics to provide our innovative linear synchronous motor automation system, MM LITE, as a solution to its automation needs,” stated Peter Mattila, MagneMotion’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  “The increased capacity in lens conveyance at Gentex Optics will be substantial.”

Other benefits of the system played a role in selecting MM LITE over alternative conveyor systems.  “The flexibility and modularity of the MM LITE system, its ability to integrate seamlessly with our machinery, and the precise control were all important factors  in our decision to work with MagneMotion,” stated Mr. Amit Agarwal, Senior Automation Engineering Manager at Gentex Optics.  “MM LITE will allow us to eliminate redundant automation processes, such as multiple inspection stations, and increase our efficiency.”

Essilor operates 15 manufacturing plants and 332 prescription labs in 54 countries.
