Paradox Engineering to supply lighting controls to San Francisco
May 16, 2012 - San Francisco will cooperate with Paradox Engineering to start a pilot project to help san Francisco to manage its lighting infrastructure, and further advanced services in the future.
Cities can become Smart when relying on proper use and interpretation of information for any decision about energy and public resources management and service delivery. There is a variety of objects (energy distribution networks, public transport, parking lots, lighting infrastructures, etc.) which can be source of useful information, and more will come by the transformation of any object into a talking mote through the advent of the Internet of Things; municipalities, though, often do not have the possibility to get advantage of these pieces of information.
Reliable infrastructures for data collection and correlation processes are fundamental to turn any system into a smart architecture: the foundation of any Smart City is the integration of existing traditional distribution, communication and service networks with an advanced communication platform.
