Semaphore adds ISaGRAF 5 to Kingfisher G30 SCADA System
The Kingfisher G30 fully embeds the ISaGRAF 5 control software environment to provide support both the IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499 standards. The G30 compact RTU allows open programming in all 5 languages specified by the IEC 61131-3 standard and supports IEC 61499 for easy creation of distributed control applications. Function blocks for applications such as AGA flow calculations are provided in the comprehensive function block library.

ISaGRAF 5 is the worlds first commercially-available IEC 61499 automation software. It offers unparalleled functionality and benefits by incorporating both the IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499 standards. Using ISaGRAF 5, any field device manufacturer has the ability to turn their equipment into an IEC 61499 product. About the Kingfisher G30 RTU
The Kingfisher G30 provides the communications, processing, and software capabilities of the Kingfisher PLUS+ in a compact, economical RTU, with advanced features that are normally found in much larger products. The Kingfisher G30 has the ability to handle intensive applications thanks to its 32-bit ARM9 main processor. It also features 32 MB SDRAM and 16 MB of Flash memory for high-speed data logging. Along with 10/100 BaseT Ethernet and USB 2.0 ports, an on-board module provides flexible communication options.
In addition to the main processor, the Kingfisher G30 features an ARM7 processor on an intelligent I/O module for input and output processing on a 1 ms interval with full sequence-of-events monitoring, as well as failsafe output modes, high-speed counting and pulse generation.
The G30 design enables a new level of customization by its use of configurable modules for communications, I/O and AC or DC power, also allowing for future growth.

IEC 61499 also has the ability to encapsulate automation functionality such that machine builders can create IEC 61499 function blocks for different components of the machine and only need to assemble them to achieve the desired operation.
