Renishaw announces opening of U.S. Fixturing Centre of Excellence for inspection machines

July 1, 2019 - A 52,000 square foot Renishaw Fixturing Centre of Excellence has opened in Norton Shores, Michigan to serve both machine builders and manufacturers focused on inspecting parts for aerospace, automotive, electronics and other industrial verticals. R&R Fixtures, LLC, officially changing its name to Renishaw Fixturing Solutions, LLC, as part of the final phase of its integration into the Renishaw business, following its acquisition in 2012.

“This change reflects Renishaw’s long-term commitment to the development of fixturing solutions used in industrial metrology applications, and it will enable us to maximize the value we deliver to our customers,” states Kevin Gani, Director & General Manager of Renishaw’s Styli and Fixturing Products Division. “Although the product branding will now be different, what will remain the same are the high levels of service and support.”

The Centre of Excellence for metrology fixturing design and manufacturing is located just a few miles away from R&R’s existing Grand Haven operations, but is approximately three times the size. It features energy-efficient technologies such as indoor air management systems and power distribution, as well as a fully equipped demo room for workshops, open houses and on-site product training.

The facility is intended to help the company “accelerate our new product development pipeline to get fixturing products, such as our new transfer systems, to market quicker and more effectively,” says Gani.

The increase in market demand and growth in metrology fixturing cemented the need for increased capacity and capabilities and demonstrates a continued investment in the global fixturing product line, adds Gani.
